Can you migrate our existing case data?
Yes. We handle data migration from spreadsheets and most legacy case management systems as part of onboarding. Firm and Enterprise plans include guided migration; Enterprise includes white-glove migration performed by our team.
Is the trust accounting compliant with bar rules?
DocketGate maintains an immutable IOLTA ledger — entries are never edited or deleted, only reversed — producing the auditable record most state bars expect. As with any tool, your firm remains responsible for compliance with your jurisdiction’s rules.
How is our data secured?
All data is encrypted in transit, documents are stored in private storage with expiring signed links, and row-level security enforces firm and role boundaries at the database layer. Client portal users only ever see data explicitly shared with them.
Is there a long-term contract?
Solo and Firm plans are month-to-month — no annual commitment required. Enterprise agreements are tailored to your firm.
Who counts as a user?
Any staff member who logs in — attorneys, paralegals, and admins. Client portal access for your clients is unlimited and free on all plans.
What does onboarding look like?
We configure your case types, phases, task templates, and fee schedules with you, import your data, and train your staff. Most firms are fully operational within two weeks.
